Drama Scholarship
Do you have an enthusiasm and aptitude for Drama?
Do you have a passion for performance and interest in the performing arts? Does performing in plays, musicals and going to London to watch shows sound like a dream for you? Well, at HLAW it can be a reality.
Students who are interested in performance would be considered for a scholarship in Drama.
What we offer:
Students who are successful applicants to the scholarship programme will benefit from:
- Access to the Harris Lowe Performance Company with a role in the School Production and the national Theatre Connections Festival.
- Enrichment & trips: Students will be supported in visiting plays, musicals and working with practitioners on projects or having the opportunity perform plays in a professional theatre.
- Harris Federation competitions: Participation in any Harris wide Drama events.
- National competitions: Scholars will have the opportunity to represent Harris at national competitions such as the National Theatre Connections festival.
- Specialist workshops: Students will have the opportunity to attend specialist workshops at school or at theatres.
- Rehearsals will be 2 or 3 days a week after school.

Elite Athlete Sports Scholarship
Are you a talented athlete? Do you compete at a high level? Would you like to be considered for a scholarship in sport?
A school sports scholarship is support given to students who demonstrate exceptional athletic talent and potential. We offer support to student athletes in balancing their academic studies with competitive sports participation. Our purpose is to:
- Recognise and reward athletic excellence
- Provide educational opportunities to talented athletes who may not have the financial means to attend a specialist school
- Promote school sports programmes and build strong teams that compete at local regional and even national level.
Eligibility criteria
- Outstanding performance in a specific sport (e.g. football, basketball, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, dance): minimum standard county level or equivalent
- Proven commitment, discipline, and teamwork
- Commitment to academic studies
- Positive character and leadership qualities
Benefits of a sports scholarship
- Academic and athletic balance: access to tutoring, training, and mentoring programmes
- Exposure and opportunity: support to help with further training and career pathways
- Personal development: encourages time management, resilience, and leadership
- Enrichment and trips: students will be supported in visiting high level competitions

Expectations for scholarship holders
Scholarship recipients are typically expected to:
- represent the school in competitions
- attend regular training sessions and maintain peak physical fitness
- maintain strong academic performance
- uphold school values on and off the field
Be a role model as a sports leader for the school and community.
