In 1915, after losing a friend in Ypres, Canadian doctor, Lt. Col. John McCrae was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields to write a now famous poem called 'In Flanders Fields'. After WWI, the poppy was adopted as a symbol of Remembrance. pic.twitter.com/zuqPLoUnpU— Harris Lowe Arts () November 11, 2023

Welcome to Harris Lowe Academy Willesden

Image001It is a great privilege to lead the new Harris Lowe Academy Willesden; the fantastic staff and students really exemplify our Harris Federation values and it is a place of real learning for all.

We are all excited at the possibilities for the future where the very best work of Capital City's past endeavours joins with the outstanding work of the Harris Federation.

Every single day our academy community works hard together to achieve the very best in teaching and learning and ensure that we offer an exceptional environment for academic, artistic and sporting success.

Building on strong roots in the local community, we are a secondary school with places for students in Year 7 and Year 12. To learn about admissions, please click HERE.

In September 2023, we were proud to join the Harris Federation, which runs over 52 successful primary and secondary schools in and around London. Every Harris academy inspected by Ofsted is rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’, with the majority rated ‘outstanding’. GCSE results in the Harris Federation are the best in the country for how much student progress from their starting point in Year 7 and we know that

We hope that this website gives you a sense of the opportunities on offer here. Please feel free to contact us if there is any further information that we can provide.

Our vision statement encompasses all that Harris Lowe Academy Willesden offers to staff, students and the local community and we are very proud of the fantastic co-curricular opportunities that we can offer due to our amazing facilities, staff and location. The enthusiasm, discipline and ambition of our students combined with the high expectations and willing hard work of the staff have meant that we have seen results increase year-on-year. Day to day, the desire of all those at the academy to enable all students to reach their full potential can be seen.

Parents and carers play a vital role at the academy and the home-school partnership is key to realising each student’s potential.

We enjoy the opportunities to welcome parents to parent meetings, academic review meetings, information evenings, awards evenings, art events and sporting fixtures.

There is so much to celebrate at Harris Lowe Academy Willesden, and we believe that strong relationships, rewards and recognition, and clear and consistent routines allow all to thrive. Students often cite the great relationships with their teachers and the way that each one of them goes above and beyond to support every student, as the key to their success. We are confident that when you visit us, talk to our students, staff and parents/carers, hear first-hand about the opportunities and successes of our school and see the wonderful facilities - you will want to join us.
