Miss Patel is an Assistant Principal of Harris Lowe Academy Willesden, leading on whole-school literacy, initial teacher and early career teacher training, curriculum reviews and Humanities. She also oversees Year 10, working closely with their Head of Year, Mr Austin.
She grew up in Birmingham and studied Geography at the University of Manchester. Miss Patel relocated to London following a post-university gap year to volunteer in southern Africa.
She completed her teacher training through Teach First, teaching Geography at Westminster Academy. Whilst working there, she completed a Masters in Educational Leadership from UCL Institute of Education. After taking a career break to travel around Central and South America, she has been at our academy since 2024.
Proudest moment in education: Taking students on their geography field trips, and their awe and wonder when seeing unfamiliar natural features at river landscapes and coastal landscapes.
Thing I love the most about HLAW: The undeniably impressive wit of the students, and pride felt at events such as the Art Exhibition, the annual drama production and, of course, results day!
