Activities, Clubs & Trips

Basketball Enrichment

Harris Lowe Academy Willesden offers a wide range of enrichment and extension activities during lunchtime and at the end of the school day.

Enrichment is a key feature of our curriculum and we are delighted to host clubs every day of the week. We offer clubs such as Basketball, chess,  girls' football , dungeons and dragons, school production and art and textiles.

No sign-ups needed. All clubs are completely free, and students can simply turn up and join in. The only exceptions the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which require a small fee or registration.

We encourage every student to take part in at least one club each week. These activities help them grow, make new friends and gain valuable experiences.

We are always open to new ideas. If there’s a club your child would love to see, we’d love to hear from you. Please email d.hyde@harrislowewillesden.org.uk

Trips – learning outside the classroom

We also offer regular trips to bring subjects to life and help students explore the world around them. From historical landmarks to galleries and theatres, universities to City businesses, these trips are designed to inspire and challenge. Last year we ran 64 school trips during the year.

Our curriculum is also enriched by the many incredible organisations and professionals who visit our school to talk to students. Our programme of visiting speakers helps broaden students’ horizons and spark creativity.

Read our newsletters to read about recent enrichment, trips and visits, including our school production of Les Miserables.

Chess Enrichment

“HLAW is a brilliant school that takes education seriously and offers opportunities from athletics to academics. The support for me and others is outstanding, and the academy lives values you don’t find everywhere. I’d choose HLAW every time.”

Joel, Year 10

“My son has started in Year 7, and we wanted to express how happy we are with the school. He has settled in quickly [and] has thrown himself into school life thanks to the extra-curricular clubs which were up and running immediately."

Parent of Year 7 Student

“I worked hard but I couldn’t have done it on my own. I had good support from my teachers, from everyone who taught me. Absolutely come to HLAW Sixth Form. You will have good support from your teachers and if you work hard, you will see the results.”

Diogo, Sixth Form
