Welcome from the Principal
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Harris Lowe Academy Willesden has been open since 2023, is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ in all categories, and our students routinely achieve some of the best outcomes nationally.
Our staff, students and families are united in striving to make our academy the best it can possibly be, captured in our vision:
Strong Values. Strong Outcomes. Strong Futures.
This is more than a statement. It is a shared commitment to providing an exceptional education and a community in which every child is known, supported and encouraged to aim high.
Our core values of Determination, Integrity, Curiosity and Empathy underpin everything that happens at Harris Lowe Academy Willesden. They shape the culture we build each day: the determination to persevere and succeed, the integrity to do what is right, the curiosity to think deeply and learn widely, and the empathy to understand others and contribute positively to our community.
Our broad, ambitious curriculum opens doors. Alongside strong foundations in English, mathematics and science, students study a rich range of subjects across the arts, sports, humanities and several languages, building deep knowledge, character and confidence. As students move into Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, they can further tailor their pathways through subjects such as sociology, economics and psychology, ensuring their learning remains relevant, challenging and future-focused. We want every learner to discover strengths, develop new interests and leave equipped with the qualifications, habits and aspirations needed for the next stage of education and for future life.
A calm, purposeful environment is central to learning. We set high standards for behaviour and conduct, with clear routines and consistent expectations that help students feel safe, respected and ready to learn. Our staff build strong relationships with students, balancing warmth with firmness, so that every child can thrive.
Beyond the classroom, we provide a wide enrichment programme that broadens horizons and builds belonging through clubs, sport, arts, leadership opportunities and experiences that celebrate talent and develop teamwork. These opportunities help students to grow in confidence, resilience and character, and to feel proud of being part of our academy.
Parents and carers play a vital role in academy life, and our partnership with families is central to helping every child fulfil their potential. We value the many opportunities to welcome parents and carers into the academy through parents’ evenings, information events, celebration and awards evenings, as well as art showcases and sporting fixtures.
I hope that this website gives you the information you need and a sense of the aspirations we have for the students we educate. Please contact us to arrange a visit if you are interested in enrolling your child with us, applying for our Sixth Form, or applying for a job vacancy we have advertised.

“Harris Lowe has been fantastic in helping me through the move from Year 9 to Year 10. Staff help every student remove barriers to learning and they role model our values of integrity and empathy.”
“Two years ago, I moved far away, but I couldn’t leave HLAW. Even with a long daily journey, the bond I have with the staff and community kept me here. Staying has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
