Society & Relationships
Students are immersed in a variety of PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) lessons, citizenship lessons, careers lessons, assemblies, workshops, talks, visits and enrichment activities to prepare them for life beyond school.
Students learn how to stay safe, healthy and happy – both online and in everyday life. Students look at topics, such as, healthy eating, mental wellbeing, respectful relationships and what to expect as they grow and change.
Students also learn about British values, leadership, digital safety, misinformation and disinformation, anti-racism, anti-misogyny and much more.

Our goal is to help student become an active citizen, engaging in community life, create positive change, be curious and support each other.
Our SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural) policy can be downloaded from the Teaching and Learning link at the bottom of the page. Click HERE to see our PHSE (Personal, Health, Social and Economic) education overview.

“Two years ago, I moved far away, but I couldn’t leave HLAW. Even with a long daily journey, the bond I have with the staff and community kept me here. Staying has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
“HLAW Sixth Form has been the perfect place to push myself. The support from teachers helped me stay focused and aim high. If you’re willing to work hard and want to achieve something great, this is absolutely the place to do it.”
