Mr Deery is the Principal of Harris Lowe Academy Willesden. Originally from Sussex, he graduated from Oxford University with a MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. His career started in Newham, where he taught mathematics at a comprehensive school in Manor Park.
He left London in 2014 to become Head of Mathematics in a non-selective academy in Thanet, Kent, before returning to London to take on several senior leadership roles. He joined Harris Lowe as the founding Principal in 2023 and is incredible proud to serve his local community. He has two children who enjoy coming to the Academy’s annual art exhibition.
Proudest moment in education: our Sixth Form securing outcomes better than 100% of academies in our inaugural and second year of existence!
Thing I love the most about HLAW: our family feel – so many of our staff live in our community and lots are ex-students; this helps our students see what can be achieved through hard work and commitment to education.
