Mr Mumuni, Teacher

Mr Mumuni, Teacher

“Every morning that I step into HLAW, I am reminded how blessed I am to work alongside such dedicated staff and a truly supportive SLT.”

Since joining the academy in February 2015, not a single day has passed without me realising how fortunate I am to work in a school so rich in culture, diversity and a genuine sense of community. From the beginning, when the academy was still known as Capital City Academy, I was welcomed into an environment built on teamwork, encouragement and shared values.

Starting my journey as an LSA, I was trusted with opportunities to mentor, guide and support pupils from day one. As my passion for teaching grew, the academy championed my development, supporting me through my QTS journey — paying me as an unqualified teacher and funding my teacher training. This belief in my potential shaped not only my career but also my confidence as an educator.

Nearly a decade on, I have been privileged to progress through a range of roles, including House & Charity Lead, 2nd in command within the PE Department, and most recently Acting Head of PE. Even as the academy transitioned to Harris, the unwavering support, belief and encouragement I have received has remained constant.

Every morning that I step into HLAW, I am reminded how blessed I am to work alongside such dedicated staff and a truly supportive SLT. The academy has not only shaped my career — it has shaped who I am as a teacher. I am proud, grateful and honoured to be part of the HLAW community!
